Five Years of BubbleFlush – A Story of Innovation and Impact!

Five years ago, the idea of BubbleFlush was born. From an initial concept to a proof of principle, from early prototypes to the first 100 units delivered at the end of 2022. Since then, nearly 5,000 units have been sold across the world, multiple awards have been won, and every day, BubbleFlush helps keep tens of thousands of toilets clean in a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly way!

When Dennis explains his idea at the gym to Hidde using their ultrasonic toothbrush concept to clean toilets Hidde bursts out laughing. “From cleaning teeth to cleaning toilets?” he jokes.
But as they continue discussing and testing, the concept proves to be surprisingly effective. The only question left: Is the market ready for it?
A first test with CSU, one of the leading cleaning companies, showed that there was a huge demand for sustainable toilet cleaning. Armed with a shopping bag full of electronics, we cleaned our first toilet in a psychiatric facility. CSU was convinced and then things moved quickly!

On February 11, 2021, we presented a wooden concept model of BubbleFlush at CSU’s Tell Me More event. The audience and jury were unanimous: BubbleFlush won its first award! Encouraged by this, we built two prototypes and conducted extensive field tests.

In November 2021, BubbleFlush won both the public and jury prizes at the CSU Innovation Awards. In 2023, BubbleFlush received the prestigious ‘European Cleaning & Hygiene Award’ in Dublin for ‘Technological Innovation of the Year’ followed by numerous national and international like the WIS Award recognitions proving that the world was ready for a safe, sustainable toilet cleaning solution.

At Interclean 2022, we showcased our first 15 pre-production units to the public. By the end of that year, full-scale production began. In early 2023, a social enterprise started assembling BubbleFlush, and soon after, the product became available worldwide.

Today, thousands of people in dozens of countries use BubbleFlush every day, making not only toilets cleaner but also helping to protect our planet and its waters. Professional toilet cleaning is now safer, healthier, and more efficient than ever before.
